Radda Appoints Hadi Sirika as Pro-Chancellor of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University

The Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, has approved the appointment of Distinguished Senator Hadi Sirika (Marusan Katsina) as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina.
The appointment, which takes effect from October 24, 2025, is for a first tenure of five years.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, Esq., on Monday.
According to the statement, the appointment of Senator Sirika was made in recognition of his outstanding qualities and notable performance over the years. Governor Radda charged the new appointee to bring his vast experience and expertise to bear in the advancement of the university.
Born on 22nd March 1964 in Dubawa, Sirika B. Word, Dutsi Local Government Area of Katsina State, Senator Hadi Sirika is an aviator and seasoned politician. He is an alumnus of several prestigious institutions, including the Petroleum Helicopter Institute, Flight Safety International, and Delta Aeronautics—all in the United States of America. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Aviation Management.
Sirika’s public service career spans decades, having served as a Member of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007, Senator representing Katsina North Senatorial District from 2011 to 2015, Minister of State for Aviation between 2015 and 2019, and later as Minister of Aviation from 2019 to 2023 under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Governor Radda congratulated Senator Hadi Sirika on the well-deserved appointment and prayed for Allah’s guidance as he assumes his new role as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University.
